COVID-19 Vaccinations for Foreign Residents in Albania in Planning Stage

The Albanian government is currently planning and considering how to vaccinate foreign residents in the country.

Exit contacted a spokesperson of the Prime Minister to inquire whether foreign residents would be vaccinated as a group, or whether they would be included in the roll-out of vaccinations in the population.

“For example, will you vaccinate all foreigners at the same time or will they be categorized depending on risk level? Will high-risk residents be vaccinated alongside high-risk Albanians?” Exit asked.

Exit clarified that it was referring to those who pay tax and social security contributions and hold an in-date residence permit.

The government representative confirmed that planning for this situation is currently underway and an update will be provided in due course.
