The Ministry of Health has confirmed the presence of the Delta variant of COVID-19 in Albania.
After several weeks of speculation, it was confirmed today. The presence of the variant is believed to have contributed to the rise in infections over the last two weeks. The Delta variant is more transmissible than other variants.
The Ministry called on citizens to take the vaccination to minimize the risk of infection.
Currently, there have been 1,134,085 vaccinations officially administered in Albania. Almost 500,000 people have received a second dose/
