Dutch Police and Prosecution Suggest Reinstatement of Schengen Visa for Albania

ABC News reports that the Dutch police and public prosecution are suggesting a reinstatement of Schengen visa for Albanian nationals.

This advise is part of a report drafted by both institutions, which will be sent to the Ministry of Justice and Security. The report in question further contains an analysis about Albanian criminality in the Netherlands, which is on the rise.

According to this report, Albanian criminals are mainly involved in drug trafficking and money laundering, whereas there seems to be no link to the refugee crisis or terrorism. The police and prosecution are intent on preventing Albanian criminal to become rooted in Dutch society, and suggest that reinstatement of the visa regime might be a way to prevent that from happening.
