Earthquake Hits Greece and Turkey

A heavy earthquake of 6.7 on the Richter scale has hit the Greek island of Kos and the Turkish city of Bodrum. Two persons were killed, while 170 others were injured.

According to the Greek authorities, the collapse of a wall in the old part of the city caused the death of two tourists from Sweden and Turkey.

Although the epicenter of the earthquake was in Kos, the Greek Deputy Minister of Naval Transport states that overall damage to the island has been minimal.
