After former PS Deputy Armando Prenga handed in his mandate yesterday, his seat is expected to pass on to a member of the government coalition partner, the Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI).
According to the PS list of seven candidates for the County of Lezha, next on the list would be Kastriot Piroli, former mortgage director of the county and last on the list. However, Piroli has been convicted with two months imprisonment for corruption.
Based on the law, the parliamentary seat will thus pass to the second party in the coalition, the LSI. Because of the gender equality regulations, the seat is expected to go to the first woman on the LSI list for Lezha, Erisa Zaimi. Prenga’s withdrawal thus further weakens the position of the PS in Parliament.
