The European Union has donated 20,000 control kits for Covid-19 tests to Albania.
The kits contain control material that laboratories can use to check the correct functioning of their coronavirus tests. In particular, it is used to avoid that a test could give a negative result even if the person is positive.
Genoveva Ruiz Calavera of the European Commission announced that the aid had shipped to Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo and North Macedonia.
EU Ambassador to Albania Luigi Soreca said 20,000 kits would make tests more reliable and the fight against coronavirus more effective.
