Western Balkan leaders and EU institutions leaders will meet in Brussels today to hold the Western Balkans Speakers’ Summit.
In attendance will be Speakers of Parliament of Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The summit will be chaired by European Parliament President David Sassoli and the focus will be on discussions on opening negotiations for Albania and North Macedonia in the spring of 2020, as well as on economic development for the entire region.
European Union Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhely said Western Balkan countries should make the most of Croatia’s EU presidency and WB summits, as this is the time to focus on the Western Balkans and problems of the region.
