The European Union has pledged €5 million to help Kosovo fight coronavirus.
The EU delegation in Kosovo announced the news following public backlash after reports that the union donated €7.5 million to Serbia but only words of support to Kosovo.
The EU has always been with the people of Kosovo, in good times and in crises. We are working with international aid organizations in Kosovo on allocating up to 5 million EURO to fight the #COVID-19 outbreak. Our goal is to help protect the health and lives of the people 1/2 pic.twitter.com/1RHBV09wsJ

Unaware of any concrete efforts by the EU to allocate funds to Kosovo and relying on the delegation’s tweet of two days ago, many were quick to criticize the EU for neglecting the country. Some comments accused EU that it is trying to appease Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vučić who blasted the alleged lack of support by the EU, stating that he will turn to China instead.
