EU to Donate COVID-19 Vaccines to Western Balkans

The European Union will donate COVID-19 vaccines to the Western Balkans. 

European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen said that the EU will coordinate the donation of vaccines by Member States, in particular to protect healthcare workers in the Western Balkans.

This week, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama travelled to the United States to “open a communication channel” and hold face-to-face meetings with pharmaceutical company executives in order to obtain access to the COVID-19 vaccine for Albania.
