This week is Europe Week and the EU Delegation in Tirana has organised a full programme of events.
Taking place online due to COVID-19 restrictions,
Ambassador Luigi Soreca said in a statement that the last months have not been easy for Albania, noting the 26 November earthquake and the current pandemic. Despite this, Soreca said there has been an amazing show of solidarity, strength, and resilience between Albanians, and Albania and Europe, including the EU’s decision to open accession negotiations in March.
“Europe Week 2020 celebrates this togetherness. With the cooperation of 18 artists from our Member States and Albania, we want to honour the best that the current situation has brought out in people and offer some comfort and entertainment,” Soreca said.
