The head of the International Monitoring Operation, Genoveva Ruiz Calavera expressed satisfaction with participating in the Stabilization and Association Agreement Committee between the European Union and Albania.
In a Twitter post on Wednesday, Calavera emphasizes that the focus remain on the path of reforms, despite difficulties such as the earthquake or the COVID- 19 pandemic.
“Pleased to open 11th Stabilization Association Agreement Committee between EU and Albania and see such good turn out on both sides,” she wrote.
“It has been a difficult time with last year’s earthquake and COVID-19, but focus remains on the path of reforms: EU stands strongly by Albania’s side in their implementation!,” Calavera added.
The Stabilization and Association Agreement Committee assists the Stabilization and Association Council to oversee the implementation of the SAA, which entered into force in 2009.
The Committee is composed of representatives of the Council of the EU and the European Commission, and representatives of the Government of Albania, on the other hand.
