Fier, Refinery Worker Threatens to Jump from Factory

Agiom Murdhi, a factory worker from the refinery in Fier is threatening top jump from the factory. He is one of the 150 workers in the refinery protesting against the fact that they haven’t been paid their salary for the last four months, and that for the last 22 months their social security payments have not been made. The protesters state that even though the factory has continued to be in operation, their wages haven’t been paid regularly.

Since November 2016 the workers have been protesting against their maltreatment by the refinery. In spite of a letter sent to Prime Minister Edi Rama and Minister of Energy Damian Gjiknuri addressing this problem, the situation in the factory has showed no improvement.
