German diplomat Christiane Hohmann has been appointed as next EU Ambassador to Albania, replacing Luigi Soreca who left the post in April.
Hohmann is joining the EU Delegation in Tirana after a long career with the German Foreign Office.
Since 2019, she has been the German Ambassador to Estonia, after serving as Ambassador to Bosnia-Herzegovina for two years.
Hohmann has held diplomatic posts in the United States, Cameroon, and the European Commission in Brussels. Between 2013 and 2016, she was department at chair within the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
She is expected to move to Tirana in September.
