The CEC Regulatory Commission has approved a proposal to stop the government from awarding concession contracts or PPPs, 4 months before the elections.
“Four months before the election date until the election day, the award of public concession / PPP contracts is prohibited, for which no public announcement has been made that they will take place, are not a continuation of a concession procedure initiated, or are not provided for to be financed through the approved budget of the election year “, it is stated in the decision.
So the decision does not affect the concessions provided in the 2021 budget.
The proposal came from the member of the Regulatory Commission Muharrem Cakaj, representative of the SMI.
In the Regulatory Commission, the majority has the majority but in this case, the proposal of the opposition has been agreed.
