Government Workers Banned from Using Personal Cars

Starting from tomorrow, government workers will have to walk to their jobs.

Today, the government announced a temporary ban on the use of private cars for government workers. Prime Minister Edi Rama said in a Facebook post that whoever violates the ban will lose three months of wages. Repeat offenders will be terminated from their jobs.

Exempt from the ban are only the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Defense, and municipality workers who have been appointed to take part in the government action plan for the prevention of the spread of coronavirus.

All of the above institutions will be required to draft and file a list of the workers who will need to use their private vehicles.
