Heavy Rain, Floods, and a Small Earthquake in Albania Today

Overnight rain has brought floods to parts of Albania including Lezhe and Lushnje.

Following heavy rainfall, both cities have found main arterial roads flooded creating difficult conditions for road users and pedestrians.

In Lezhe, the roads in the Beseldhja neighbourhood are completely flooded. It’s reported that this is due to the fact that drainage canals in the area have not been maintained properly.

The same situation happened in Lushnje where the water drainage system has become totally blocked.

Also this morning, a 3.6 magnitude earthquake was felt in Tirana and Durres. Theere have been no reports of damage or injury.
