Also on Sunday, Albania joined the European Union in imposing sanctions against Russia. This includes freezing the assets of more than 600 Russian citizens, banning Russian aircrafts from Albanian airspace, and restricting trade in a number of areas.

Albania is also coordinating efforts to send humanitarian aid to Ukraine. The Ukrainian Embassy in Tirana is also collecting donations from Albanian citizens and residents.
