Ilia Stefo, the candidate representing the ruling coalition Alliance for European Albania (AShE), has won the local elections in Kolonja with a majority of about 62.9% of the votes. Stefo, member of the Socialist Party (PS), beat opposition candidate Dritan Hajro from the Agrarian Environmentalist Party (PAA) with about 2,100 votes.
The ruling coalition and the opposition have accused each other of vote-buying practices.
