Interior Minister Sander Lleshaj Says Car Only Cost EUR 50,000

The Minister of Interior, Sander Lleshaj has refuted the allegations that he bought a car costing EUR 150,000.

Through a Facebook post, Lleshaj writes that the vehicle he uses as a minister, which is owned by the state only cost EUR 49,000.

Lleshaj stressed that the car he uses has a value equal to ‘the value of new vehicles put into use by the State Police, in Tirana and in all regions of the country during this year, as part of its modernization program. ‘

While his personal car is a simple car, which he has been using for 10 years.

The minister called the media attack on him an attempt at intimidation and blackmail to prevent him from working at the head of the ministry.
