Italy will send a team made up of seven experts to Albania to aid in the fight against COVID-19.
The team will arrive in Tirana on July 30 to consult their Albanian homologues.
The Italian expert team includes medical staff from Apulia, Lombardy Lazio, and Piedmont.
Alongside the team of experts, Italy will also donate 500,000 surgical masks to Albania.
In March, when Italy was the country most affected by coronavirus in Europe and was struggling with a lack of medical staff and an overwhelmed medical system, Albania sent 30 doctors and nurses to Lombardy, the country’s hardest hit region.
The Italian government welcomed the decision to send the medical staff, while many in Italy have contrasted it with the alleged lack of adequate help to Italy by the European Union.
