Today President Bujar Nishani decreed that new local elections will be held in Kavaja on May 7. The President’s decree follows the publication of the Constitutional Court’s verdict to reject former mayor Elvis Rroshi’s appeal.
The former mayor was dismissed on December 29, 2016, by the Central Elections Commission (KQZ).
