Kosovo Enforces New COVID-19 Measures

New anti-COVID measures enter into force in Kosovo today in an effort to avoid the fourth wave that is currently ravaging Europe.

Under the new measures, anyone entering Kosovo must present proof of full vaccination, negative tests, or proof that they have recovered from the virus. But as of 3 January, the measures will intensify.

Anyone entering Kosovo after this date must provide a complete vaccination certificate, or evidence of one dose of the vaccine plus a negative PCR test, or a dose of the vaccine plus proof of recovery from the virus.

Anyone passing through Kosovo, the under 12, and those with medical exemptions are excluded from the requirements.

Full evidence of vaccination will also be required for everyone using public transport and wearing masks in public remains mandatory.

Kosovo citizens and residents can be vaccinated at border crossings and at the Adem Jashari airport, as well as at regular vaccination centers.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that while the COVID-19 situation is currently calm, it is at risk due to the spread of Omicron around the world.
