Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) leader Ramush Haradinaj has threatened to break off the governing coalition between his party and the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) if Kosovo’s Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti continues excluding the Minister of Justice from the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
During a television interview on July 22, Haradinaj said that he had already officially warned Hoti that “if he keeps this up, [Haradinaj] will not support him” in the governing coalition.
Haradinaj added that “there was no need” for Hoti to bring his chief of staff along to his meeting with Vucic, when he could have brought Minister of Justice Selim Selimi.
Selimi is a member of Haradinaj’s AAK party.
Should Haradinaj carry out his threat, this would be the second Kosovo governing coalition to dissolve in the past five months. In March of this year, LDK broke its coalition with the Vetevendosje (LVV) party, by bringing a no confidence motion against then Prime Minister, and LVV leader, Albin Kurti, after the latter fired a LDK minister.
