While around 500 doctors from Kosovo have been already vaccinated in Albania’s town of Kukes.
Except for the medical stuff, Kosovo initially started the vaccination of persons older than 85 years and later with those from 80-84 years old.
Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama offered to vaccinate Kosovo’s teachers as well, after the country received the Chinese vaccine, Sinovac but his offer was declined, citing geopolitical and health safety issues.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that because Kosovo is not recognized by many countries, including Russia and China, they “don’t have the comfort of accepting vaccines from all over like some countries are doing.”
