Kosovo With New Anti- COVID Measures

Since Friday, Kosovo has decided new measures for its municipalities according to the new categorization regarding the number of infected with COVID- 19 per 100,000 inhabitant.

The movement of citizens was determined by the number of infected in the last 7 days and measures are taken according to categorizations by areas.

The red zone includes high-risk municipalities, with over 151 infected per 100,000 inhabitants per week.

There are 18 municipalities in this area: Prishtina, Fushe-Kosova, Gjilan, Obiliq, Gjakova, Shtime, Podujeva, Peja, Ferizaj, South Mitrovica, Vushtrri, Lipjan, Vitia, Zvecan, Leposavic, Zubin Potok, North Mitrovica and Kamenica.

In the municipalities in the red zone, every economic activity is closed from 19:00 and a complete restriction of the movement of citizens is imposed. There will also be curfews in these municipalities, and entrances and exits to these municipalities are prohibited until 05:00.

The yellow zone includes medium-risk municipalities, which have from 76 to 150 infected per 100,000 inhabitants per week.

14 municipalities are listed in this categorization: Prizren, Klina, Decan, Drenas, Malisheva, Suhareka, Novoberda, Gracanica, Ranillug, Partesh, Kacanik, Kllokot, Rahovec and Skenderaj.

In the municipalities which are part of the yellow zone, economic operators are allowed to work from 05:00 to 18:00.

During the last 24 hours Kosovo reported 11 victims and 855 new cases with COVID- 19. The total number of infected since the beginning of the pandemic is 32,877, with 12,220 active cases in the country.
