Ignoring the ultimatum of the opposition, the Central Election Commission (KQZ) is continuing the preparations for the parliamentary elections of June 18.
In a press statement released yesterday, the KQZ announced that it has closed the applications for Local Election Commission (KZAZ) members to fill up the vacancies left by the Democratic Party and the Republican Party, which refused to nominate any KZAZ candidates. Their positions will now be filled with non-party affiliated citizens.
The KZAZ oversees the election procedures in each voting district, as well as the counting of the votes.
The next two deadlines or April 10, when all political parties have to register at the KQZ, and April 19, when all the coalitions need to be declared.
