KQZ Raises Alarm about Lack of Voting Center Commissioners

The Central Election Commission (KQZ) has issued a warning to all parties that six days before the elections the inaction of many Local Election Administration Commissions (KZAZ) has led to a lack of Voting Center Commissioner (KQV) members.

The situation regarding the nomination of the Voting Center commissioners by the KZAZs remains intolerable, because of the failure of the political parties, which according the Electoral Code have the right to propose the members of the KQVs, to do so. From our updated information, 28 KZAZs have failed to complete the nominations of KQV members. Concretely as follows:

  1. Lezha County, KZAZ 12, 13, 14, 15 – No party handed in proposals;
  2. Shkodra County, KZAZ 2, 3, 4, 5 – No party handed in proposals;
  3. Durrës County, KZAZ 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 – Only PS handed in proposals, LSI, PD, and PR none;
  4. Tirana County, KZAZ 31, 32, 33, 34, 36, 39, 40 – PD and PR handed in no proposals;
  5. Elbasan County, KZAZ 46 – PS handed in no proposals;
  6. Elbasan County, KZAZ 47, 48,49, 50 – PD and PR handed in no proposals;
  7. Fier County, KZAZ 56 – No party handed in proposals;
  8. Korça County, KZAZ 67 – No party handed in proposals;
  9. Gjirokastra County, KZAZ 75– PD and PR handed in no proposals;

The KQZ called upon all parties to propose the pertinent KQV commissioners, as they still need to be trained in the proper voting procedures before the polls open on Sunday.
