Leader of the North Macedonian Democratic Union for Integration (BDI) Ali Ahmeti has asked Albanians in North Macedonia to unite and elect the first Albanian Prime Minister of the country.
Ahmeti called Albanian parties to act in unison and outlined all the achievements of Albanians in North Macedonia so far.
The Democratic Union for Integration is the largest Albanian political party in North Macedonia. In the parliamentary elections of 2016, BDI received the third most votes. Overall, the four Albanian ethnic parties received 20 out of 120 parliamentary seats.
The North Macedonian elections were scheduled to take place on April 12, but were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
