No inbound or outbound flights will operate from Albania’s only airport as of Sunday, March 29.
Turkey’s decision to cancel all international flights has affected Albania and its only company Air Albania, which operated the only flight from Tirana Airport, that between Tirana and Istanbul. Air Albania is owned in half by Turkish Airlines.
Air Albania confirmed for Exit News that today’s flight from Istanbul to Tirana, departing at 4pm, will be its last flight for an indefinite time.
The Albanian government cancelled most flights on March 10. Last week, Air Albania was the only company still operating one flight per day from Istanbul to Tirana.
