The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Isa Mustafa, gave the Vetevendosje Movement the weekend as the deadline for the governing agreement.
Following the LDK leadership meeting this afternoon, Mustafa said Albin Kurti had until the end of the week to accept the agreement or announce its failure.
The LDK President said that the Kosovo government should be balanced as citizens believed in their vote on 6 October 2019.
“We remain committed to an agreement, but an agreement that respects the will of the citizens of the October elections […] We think the agreement should have a balanced government in harmony with the citizens giving us confidence by voting, 28 MPs and Vetevendosje’s 29 deputies.
“We are ready to sit down and talk and reach an agreement by the end of this week, or conclude that there are no conditions for an agreement.”On Monday, President Hashim Thaci mandated the leader of the Vetevendosje Movement Albin Kurti to form the government. He has two more weeks to secure the numbers needed for a vote of confidence in parliament.
