LSI’s denunciation that PS supporters led by former Minister of Interior Affairs Saimir Tahiri are distributing money in exchange for votes in Vora has led to an exchange of accusations and counteraccusations between LSI deputy chair Monika Kryemadhi and Tahiri.
The initial denunciation of LSI
LSI candidate in Tirana Eriona Bixha declared today in a press conference:
I want to publicly denounce the director of vote buying and selling in the municipality of Vora, Agim Kajmaku, who has transformed his car into a bank where in total collaboration with the municipality of Vora – and for this you may verify the telephone records – and with support of former Minister of Interior Affairs Saimir Tahiri every night they organize the scheme to distribute money from door to door.
Bixha also denounced several other PS supporters who according to her engaged in vote buying in Gjokaj, Picar, and Bërcull.
The response of Tahiri
Immediately after the accusation, Tahiri responded through a Facebook post, in which he turn himself directly toward President-Elect and former LSI leader Ilir Meta and his wife Kryemadhi.
You paid money to defame the State Police an me personally. You put one of your rats as deputy minister and ended up in the insanity of your attempt to wiretap my office!
For weeks on end you, your wife, your main servants, the lions and lambs of your political trashcan, you take me on making up idiotic things, some supposed police pressure and vote buying. But who the greatest dealer in vote buying and employment in Albania is, everyone big and small knows!
The bad relations between Tahiri and Meta are no secret, and it has been speculated that Tahiri’s dismissal as minister was done at the request of Meta. Whether this is indeed the case may never be proven, but that their relation is not the best is clear from Tahiri’s comment:
It’s been a long time that you’ve been heckling me and smearing me and I’ve told you in your face when we were still talking that you’re wrong!
Kryemadhi’s diss
Kryemadhi posted a very brief response to Tahiri on her Facebook:
I greet Saimir Tahiri with the song “Don’t Smoke Weed, Go to the Gym.” Success with your life and see you on June 26.
