It comes after President of European Council Charles Michel told Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti today in Brussels that the dialogue should resume in July 2020.
In earlier news from the EU’s capital, July 17 was designated as a possible date for the summit, after Macron had suggested Hoti he could host leaders of both countries in Paris.
The reiteration of the EU-led resumption of talks between Kosovo and Serbia follows the failure of US envoy Richard Grenell to host a summit at the White House this weekend, June 27.
Kosovo representatives, President Hashim Thaci and Prime Minister Hoti canceled their trips to Washington DC following breaking news that Thaci was being indicted for war crimes. Thaci announced he was aborting his trip to Washington to go back home.
