Central Election Commission (CEC) of Kosovo will have 104 mobile teams that will assist infected citizens with COVID- 19 to vote on Sunday.
CEC will take the lists of those isolated due to COVID- 19 infection from the National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo (NIPH) and will contact them to ask if they agree for the mobile teams to go in their homes.
Each team has four persons, which in total makes 416 persons will be in 38 municipalities in order for those infected to exercise their right to vote.
“It is not an easy process as they will be going where the infected people are, but they will be equipped with all protective measures. It is a constitutional obligation for CEC to provide the opportunity for these citizens to exercise their right to vote,” a spokesperson of CEC, Valmir Eleze said on Thursday in a televised interview for KTV.
Kosovo reported 307 new cases infected with COVID -19 on Wednesday. There are currently 6,896 active cases in the country.
Snap parliamentary elections will be held on Sunday.
1,794,862 citizens registered in Kosovo have the right to vote.
Also, another 102,000 voters living abroad have been certified and registered by CEC.
