Monika Kryemadhi Calls On Citizens To React Against Political and Economic Crisis

The leader of the Socialist Movement for Integration, Monika Kryemadhi, today called on citizens to react against the mismanagement of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

During the SMI convention, Ms Kryemadhi said the country is in deep economic and political crisis, and 2020 should be the year of resistance:

“The year we have just entered, 2020, will be the year of unquestionable resistance and victory in our confrontation with the traitorous clan of national interests, with thieves’ groups, with usurpers and destroyers of the country’s economy, with the crime that has the face of the Renaissance (Socialist Party) because today we are the absolute indisputable majority of Albanians. ”

She invited all young people who want to get involved in politics to join the SMI as they will be able to compete for inclusion in the MP lists:

“The doors of the SMI to compete are open to all those girls and boys and want to contribute to the restoration of democracy. In the light of the new decade, we offer it to all those who want to be included in party lists, to compete and to be involved with their engagement and contribution from candidates for MPs, mayors, councillors, members of the SMI political committees, steering forums or competing for branch leaders throughout Albania.”

Ms Kryemadhi announced that today the SMI will resume political action, but did not elaborate on whether the opposition will stage protests or pursue another path of opposition.

She accused Prime Minister Rama of pushing his plans for the Balkan mini-Schengen and called them anti-Albanian:

“His behaviour towards Kosovo is clearly anti-Albanian: it cannot be called a paternalistic policy towards Kosovo when this new state is strengthening its international reputation, it cannot be called promoting the exchange of territories between Kosovo and Serbia. It cannot be otherwise called engagement in regional, non-transparent initiatives, with no clear goals and objectives, such as the so-called Mini-Schengen, excluding and betraying Kosovo. “
