There are 527 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in Kosovo, as the surge in cases has put a strain on the country’s hospitals.
110 patients are being treated at Prishtina’s Hospital for Infectious Diseases, occupying all available beds. 90% of those hospitalized require oxygen therapy.
On Thursday, the Ministry of Health announced that eight people had died and 2,236 new cases were recorded, the highest number since the beginning of the pandemic.
Starting today, a new set of restrictions enter into force in Kosovo.
Everyone wishing to participate in indoor events will be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test.
All nightclubs will be shut down and weddings are no longer allowed. Restaurants and cafés are required to close at 10:30 p.m.
Travelers from high risk countries will have to present a vaccination certificate or negative PCR test to enter Kosovo. The Minister has yet to announce which countries will be included in the list.
