On September 29, Fiona McCluney was introduced in Albania as the new UN Resident Coordinator. She was appointed to this position on September 4 by the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
McCluney has 30 years of experience in urban planning and development, and 12 years of service at the United Nations.
She has previously been the UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Representative in Montenegro, from 2015 to 2018. McCluney has served at the United Nations Office in Palestine and Iraq.
The new coordinator was received today by President Meta, who expressed his gratitude for the work of the UN in the country.
