The next delivery of COVID-19 vaccines is due on 15 February, according to Health Minister Ogerta Manastirliu.
In a press conference today, she said that the government has an agreement as a part of COVAX to receive enough doses for 800,000 people. These will be given to people as per the risk category defined by the vaccination and epidemiological experts.
The first COVID-19 vaccines arrived in Albania on 11 January from an apparently “anonymous” donor. Totally 975 doses, were given to medical staff and the Prime Minister. The second batch of doses arrived on 1 February from Pfizer and was a part of the government’s agreement with the company. This totalled 1170 doses.
