No More Lockdowns for Albania During COVD-19 Crisis

Despite the increase in the number of COVID-19 infections during the last month, Albania will not go into another lockdown.

This was confirmed by Prime Minister Edi Rama during a press conference.

“We cannot stay in lockdown until the virus goes away. But we can tell people to implement simple measures.”

When asked about the increase in numbers during January, he said that they were expected.

“When you open up, of course, you are exposed more. When you close, you are exposed less but only temporarily. When closed, the virus doesn’t go away, but the exposure is smaller.”

He asked citizens to respect COVID-19 rules set by his government.
