On Monday, nurses in Kosovo protested the low pay for night shifts during the coronavirus pandemic.
The Union of Nurses demanded 100 percent raise in pay for night shifts. They are currently paid €18 per shift.
Union leader Fitim Havolli said this is the least the government can do for nurses who face the daily risk of getting infected during their work, Koha newspaper reported.
The protesting nurses presented the government with 18 nurse uniforms, and invited 18 ministers and deputy prime ministers to work for 18 minutes in a hospital.
