A Bosnian woman has died, and at least three others have been injured, after a 5.7 earthquake hit Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday evening.
Around 11 p.m. last night, a powerful earthquake shook the area surrounding Mostar, a city in southern Bosnia, damaging several cars and buildings.
The earthquake were felt throughout the region, with reports of lighter shocks in Albania, Montenegro, Kosovo, Croatia, and Serbia.
The sole victim was found under the rubble, after a rock fell on her house in the town of Stolac, near Mostar. She was already dead by the time she made it to the hospital.
Her family members injured, but are out of danger and have already been released from the hospital according to local media.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre warned that “aftershocks are likely to happen in the coming hours and days.”
In November 2019, more than 50 people died and thousands were injured after a magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck northwestern Albania, damaging 14,000 buildings.
