Today, Democratic Party leader Lulzim Basha met with Presheva vice mayor, Armend Aliu, and leader of the Bujanoc Alternativa për Ndryshim (APN) party branch, Arbër Pajaziti.
Per Basha’s Facebook post, the discussion pertained mainly to the state of Albanians in the Presheva Valley, as well as their challenges and future expectations:
It was a pleasure to welcome Presheva vice mayor and APN vice president, Armend Aliu, as well as Bujanoc APN leader Arbër Pajaziti, to Tirana.
We focused broadly on the state of Albanians in the Presheva Valley, as well as their challenges and future expectations. The Democratic Party fully supports the legitimate demands of the Albanians of the [Presheva] Valley, considers them a priority, and is committed to contributing significantly to protecting and promoting their rights, as well as their economic, social, educational, and health development.
The unification of Albanian political parties is celebrated as a necessary step in the road to their empowerment and representative growth, so that their voice will strengthen and echo louder as they fight to protect the rights of our compatriots in the Presheva Valley. I look forward to soon visiting the Valley of Presheva in person.
In Januar, the Albanian government facilitated an agreement between Albanian political parties of Presheva Valley in southern Serbia to enter general elections in April with a joint list.
