607 administrative fines were handed out for mask non-compliance on Sunday and a further 468 on Monday.
24 business owners received hefty fines for either playing music after 8pm or failing to follow other COVID-19 protocols.
20 of those individuals caught without masks, did not have identification with them or refused to give it to the police. They were accompanied to the police station, fined, and then released.
For a first time ‘offence’ people must pay 3000 ALL (EUR 24) and 5000 ALL (EUR 40) for a second time’offence’. These fines are added to their utility bills. Business owners can be fined up to 1 million ALL (EUR 8000) for failing to comply with the rules.
