Yesterday, the deadline for political parties to register for the parliamentary elections of June 18 passed. Opposition Lulzim Basha owed up to the claims he made since started the opposition protest in the “Tent of Freedom” in front of the Prime Ministry, and refused to register his party for the elections.
Even though the LSI claimed that it would not enter the elections without the opposition, the party registered on March 29. Edi Rama’s PS had registered a week before, on March 20.
In a speech yesterday Basha also announced that the opposition will organize a large protest during the local elections in Kavaja, on May 7. The aim is
to hold on May 7, in the city so symbolical for democracy, for freedom, in the city of Kavaja, a large national protest to make the facade elections dictated by crime impossible with the force of unification, through a popular, peaceful, and democratic movement.
