Candidate for MP for the Democratic Party and lawyer Ivi Kaso has sent a letter to the Central Election Commission to request video footage from every voting counting centre in the country.
He also requested the footage specifically showing the ballot papers from each counting center. This footage was displayed on monitors during the country process.
Kaso claimed that the PD has collected data of irregularities on the electoral process including in the counting stage.
The OSCE/ODIHR reported that “allegations of widespread practices of vote-buying throughout the election process remain a serious problem in Albania, and this has a negative impact on the general public perception and trust in the electoral process.”
Independent candidates Elton Debreshi and the three supported by Vetevendosje have claimed irregularities during the counting process. They claim their observers were barred from various counting centers and the VV candidates have published footage they allege demonstrates ballots for them being invalidated.
SPAK and the prosecutor are currently investigating a number of alleged electoral crime reports.
