PD Wins Municipal Elections in Kavaja with 28 Votes

Democratic Party candidate Isa Sakja has won the mayoral elections in Kavaja with a difference of 28 votes with PS candidate Dorjan Murati.

Murati won 11,127 votes, while Sakja won 11,155 votes. LSI candidate Maksim Vona received 1,960 votes.

The mayoral elections in Kavaja were held after former PS mayor Elvis Rroshi was stripped from his function by the Central Election Commission for violating the decriminalization law.

PD leader Lulzim Basha, who had announced the “freezing” of his function just a few hours before, congratulated “the citizens of Kavaja for this victory over crime, corruption, and the terror of gangs!”
