Shpëtim Idrizi, leader of the Party for Justice, Integration, and Unity (PDIU) declared yesterday evening that his party is ready to join any party that may win the elections in a future government. According to Idrizi, it’s not important who wins, as long as they fulfill three conditions:
For any party that will become first in these elections and needs us we have 3 requests ready: the solution of the problem of the Çams, the Ministry for Diaspora, and the referendum law.
During the 2013 elections, the PDIU joined the coalition led by the PD and won four mandates in Parliament, in Tirana, Vlora, Fier, and Elbasan. Later, the PDIU left the opposition coalition and joined the Rama–Meta government. As a part of the agreement, Idrizi became Deputy Speaker of Parliament.
PDIU is running alone in the upcoming elections. It is not clear whether the large parties will respond positively to PDIU’s proposal. Prime Minister Rama has waged a campaign against “the small ones,” and wants to handle the “steering wheel” alone. The relations with the PD are also not optimal, because of the PDIU’s abandoning of the opposition coalition in 2015.
