An exhibition of photographs taken by Italian diplomats in Albania between 1928 and 1931 is on display at the “Vilson Kilica Galler” in Fier.
The images have been selected from the personal photographic archive of Pietro and Larissa Quaroni during their diplomatic mission and are mostly unpublished. A selection of 80 photographs is on display, out of a total of 780 images.
Visitors will be given a unique opportunity to get an insight into the events, people, landscapes, and traditions of Albania in the first half of the 20th Century. They have been described as images that present a great historical and social value due to the presence of political figures and characters who dominated the Albanian society in the 20s and 30s.
The collection was previously shown at the Centre for Openness and Dialogue in Tirana. You can see a virtual 3D tour here.
