An informal meeting among Western Balkans leaders and European Commissioner for Enlargement Johannes Hahn is being held today, in Durrës.
The meeting, hosted by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, is an informal event meant to serve as an arena to exchange thoughts and suggestions regarding regional cooperation and integration processes.
This year, the main topic of discussion will consist of the joint strategy to establish a common economic zone for the countries of the Western Balkans.
It is not yet known which prime ministers will be attending, whereas Hahn and the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Suma Chakrabarti, have confirmed their presence.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Rama, Hahn, and all other attending leaders will hold a press conference.
This is the second consecutive year that Prime Minister Rama hosts this meeting. Notably absent were any representatives from Serbia and Macedonia.
