The Albanian government has not ruled out another lockdown, saying it depends on the number of cases, hospitalisations and deaths.
Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection Mira Rakacolli spoke with journalist Ilva Tare last night and explained that for now, the COVID-19 hospitals are not at capacity.
“They are not at capacity. Both COVID hospitals still have capacity to fill. They are not even at 50%. Shefqet Ndroqi Hospital has been turned into COVID only and other pulmonary diseases are being treated at QSUT in a ward dedicated to this,” she said.
She added that during the previous lockdown, the government prepared COVID Hospital 3 and 4, bringing the number of hospitals to four with a capacity of 550 beds.
