President Meta Says They Did Political War and Experimented for Thirty Years

President of Albania, Ilir Meta said that participating in elections set to be held on April 25, is patriotism and that he will do everything for Albanians to understand this.

But on the other hand, he admits that in thirty years, they did experiments and political war, forgetting the Albanian youth.

During an interview with the Albanian Radio Television, Meta demanded a reaction to change the situation of democracy as according to him, the system of accountability “has reached the end” and “the peak of arbitrariness is beyond any fantasy”.

But when asked how the situation had precipitated at this point after thirty years of pluralism, President Meta said “We did experiments”.

“We fought a political war and forgot that time is running out and that young people can not endure long. So now we are at that last moment when the “restart” or a revival of democracy is also an appeal to stop depopulation, to save the future of the people and the nation,” he said.

According Meta, the essential elements that would change the situation are free elections and respecting the Constitution.

According to Meta, the reason why this had not been done for thirty years was “a lack of will to accept democracy and a free vote”.
